Hard To Be A God

I was asked to design a poster for one of the films in “100 Films, 100 Posters” in 2017.

100 Films, 100 Posters” is an annual film poster exhibition that has been held since 2015 to celebrate the Jeonju International Film Festival. For this event, 100 films are selected from the year’s screenings, and 100 graphic designers participate to create a poster for each film. The outputs are exhibited on the streets and in galleries during the festival. — From 100 Films, 100 Posters.

I chose a film called “Hard to Be a God.” A group of scientists is sent to the planet Arkanar, where the local population suffers under a ban on literacy. Rumata, recognized as a god, tries to save the local intelligentsia. The “100 Films, 100 Posters” exhibitions were held in both Jeonju and Seoul, South Korea (2017 JIFF).
